Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Cyser is a Glasgow-based IT consultancy using Apple products. We create guidance content for small businesses and people at home who want to get more from their iPhone, iPad and Mac, shared mainly through Cy, our AI guide. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it, in plain English.

Cyser is operated by Cyser Ltd SC774842. We are the data controller for the personal information described here, and we are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under number [ICO registration number].

This policy covers our website (cyser.org), our social media channels including Instagram (@cyser_ltd), our online webinars and podcasts, our downloadable guides and our local in-person events.

2. About Cy and our AI-generated content

Cy is an AI character created by Cyser. He is not a real person. His image, voice and videos are produced using artificial intelligence tools, and the scripts and advice he delivers are written and checked by the Cyser team.

We use AI to create:

  • Cy's videos, images and social media posts
  • Cy's voice in videos, webinars and AI-generated podcasts
  • Parts of our downloadable guides and other written content, which are reviewed by a person before publication

How this affects your information:

  • Questions you send to Cy. If you submit a question for a webinar, podcast or Q&A, we may use it to shape a future episode. Cy may read out or answer your question on air. We will never use your full name or anything that identifies you without your permission.
  • Live AI sessions. Where Cy hosts a session that responds to you, the words you type or say are processed by our AI service providers to generate his reply. Please don't share sensitive personal details, passwords or financial information in these sessions.
  • No automated decisions about you. Cy gives general guidance. We do not use AI to make decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
  • Not used to train public AI models. We do not give your personal information to AI providers for them to train their general models. We choose providers whose business terms allow this.

Cy's content is general information, not personalised professional advice or technical support.

That includes valid requests from a court or public authority, and protecting our rights, our users or the public.
